I was fortunate enough to attend the Performance Racing Industries trade show this weekend as a representative of the Purdue FSAE team. After a lot of hard work getting sponsors and parts for our car this year, I was able to explore a bit.
Before this year, I had never heard of PRI, so I did not know what to expect. Oh boy was there was a lot of impressive machinery there. Lots of drag cars and the like, but I stayed true to my inner road racer and only took pictures of the cars that really stood out to me. Some highlights below, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Enjoy!
New Audi R8 LMS GTD
Dat ass! I was blown away by the rear of this car when watching the Blancpain races this year. In person, it is truly extraordinary. My favorite rear of any car, ever.
Flying Lizard R8 LMS straight from its victory at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Still dirty!
2011 McLaren MP4-26. While I was standing between the front wheel and sidepod, I had an epiphany that this was the closest I have ever been to a Formula 1 car. I saw them at the 2014 USGP, but at a distance of course. Seriously insane that this happened.
Not much love for the Falken Tire 911 RSR. I started tearing up when I realized I was the only one looking at it. Godspeed!
Formula 1 helmets at the Arai booth! Will Stevens.
Valtteri Bottas
Daniil Kvyat
Max Verstappen
Sebastian Vettel!!!
Jenson Button
New 911 GT3 R
Scott Dixon’s championship winning Indycar.
2400 hp twin turbo Corvette.

Honda? They weren’t using Honda engines in 2011. They really must hate their old sponsors and friends to display their old car with current livery. They have painted some of their old car earlier too when they wanted to get rid of the cigarette brands but they did still retain most of the old livery. Both of these lost some sponsor decals.

all F1 teams tend to do this, they will repaint an old car (unless iconic like the 4/4) in the current livery, I’m guessing it’s probably some contractual reasons
